Repairs commencing on the ‘dangerous’ Stoke-on-Trent roundabout. Expect travel disruption due to temporary traffic lights.

The repairs on the “gasometer roundabout” start Friday, February Fourteenth. Expect delays because they’ll use three-way traffic lights. Community leaders think the trouble is worth it and it will improve the messed-up junction.
Councillors Beardmore and Irving contacted the council because they said Anchor Road’s end had become very dangerous. Highways crews already did a quick fix, but more complete repairs are set for February 14.
The roundabout is busy, linking Dividy Road, Anchor Road, and Park Hall Road. Temporary traffic lights will likely cause some hold-ups.
The councillors posted updates on their Facebook page and stated that the roundabout’s potholes got filled temporarily. This should make it safer until full repairs begin, which now have a date: February 14.
They know some people would want work during half-term, but they can’t do all repairs only during school breaks and that would create a huge backlog of road work to do. These works create interruption, with temporary lights needed to proceed, and residents should accept short interruption, because it will gain long-term benefits.
The councilors asked if they could work during off-peak hours, maybe from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to reduce traffic. Right now, they don’t have confirmation about those exact timings, but promised updates when everything becomes official.
