A 16-year-old named Nathaniel was fatally shot in Stockwell, South London. Locals mourn the “bright” student.

Police got a call Tuesday at 3:21 pm about a shooting on Paradise Road in Stockwell, South London. Paramedics tried to help, but he died there. Relatives arrived to leave flowers Wednesday and confirmed his first name was Nathaniel.
His uncle said the shooters acted like delivery drivers, mentioning they rode a moped and wore Deliveroo outfits. Police have made no arrests yet and are still investigating the shooting. Other family members spoke about Nathaniel, saying he loved Manchester United and played Playstation 5 a lot. He had one sibling, a sister.
A neighbor who knew Nathaniel’s mom said he did very well in school. She mentioned his father worked at a go-kart place nearby and helps the community a lot. Police have taped off the area and are still there.
Another neighbor who knew Nathaniel well was very upset by the news, as her own son died from a stabbing before. A young woman living there feels unsafe at night and mentioned troublesome teens in the area. She said they cause problems with the police, describing fireworks and running from cops.
She’s seen stabbings around there and thinks about cameras for safety, but there are none near the shooting spot. She said the shooters were shameless close to a school. An older resident said the area hasn’t been this bad since the 80s.
Another resident, Adrian Lindo, is 50 and hopes the youth learn lessons from the past. He sends condolences to the family. A local MP, Florence Eshalomi, called it a “life wasted”.
