It was awful. They planned their lives together, then Noah was suddenly gone. Dawn Guthrie still grieves her son’s death, which happened almost eight months ago in Fallin. Losing a child is a parent’s worst nightmare.

Noah, only fourteen, was a happy boy who overcame autism and being non-verbal. He made everyone’s lives brighter and loved swimming and Ochil House. He liked McDonald’s and Irn Bru too, and the family looked forward to Noah’s future.

Tragedy struck last August when Noah played outside in his hot tub in Dawn’s Fallin garden. He had a fatal seizure, and then Noah suffered cardiac arrest.

Dawn, Chris, Mason, and family mourn him, remember Noah and his wonderful life, and try to cope with their loss.

Dawn said Noah loved fun, scared his brother, and loved Magaluf. Every day was Friday for Noah, and the family laughed a lot with him. She feels pain about Noah’s lost potential, his love of swimming and gymnastics, and the dream of traveling with him.

Noah made it easy to love him, and he enjoyed life’s good things. Everything revolved around Noah, as it should, and the loss has been a huge shock.

Noah started school at Castleview and then went to Ochil House, where everyone knew him. Teachers and dinner ladies loved him, and although he normally hated school, everyone helped him at Ochil House, and he liked going to school there.

Chris feels immense pain still; the loss is the biggest in their lives. Noah and Mason mean everything to them, and half his life feels missing now.

Noah was happy with his life, and it’s hard knowing they won’t vacation with him. Noah had seizures before he died, but that Saturday seemed like any other day when he enjoyed the hot tub.

Suddenly, everything changed quickly when Chris shouted for Dawn to come outside fast. She knew it was serious when she saw Chris with Noah.

The incident happened last August. The fourteen-year-old had a seizure, and then he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.

Dawn remembers Noah leaning against the side of the tub. Something felt wrong to Chris and her; the cardiologist said Noah had a seizure, which caused the cardiac arrest.

They said it happened instantly, and his heart wasn’t strong enough for seizures. Dawn slept through September and October and worried about Mason too; it was horrific.

Dawn’s sister helped her a lot; Noah loved his aunt, and he waved to her. The whole family helped them through it.

Fallin’s community supported Dawn after the tragedy. They raised thousands of dollars online, and people offered condolences and well-wishes.

The support continued at Noah’s funeral, which St Mark’s Church in Raploch hosted.

Dawn confirmed Noah was loved by many people. The church was packed with people, and she saw sadness on kids’ faces that day, with the minister noting he had not seen so many people attend a funeral.

Dawn thanked the community, noting Fallin’s neighbors were very supportive. They never expected the GoFundMe page to succeed, and she will always remember the support.
