Bus routes in St Helens face changes due to demolition for a new £32 million transport hub.

This clears the way for the new hub. The current bus station shuts down in Spring. A temporary bus hub opens at Chalon Way. Most bus routes will stay the same at first.
Some bus stops change on March 3, 2025. This is a week before demolition begins. Stands 1, 2, and 3 will close, so your bus might leave from a new spot, and some buses will use a stop on Bickerstaffe Street.
Plan extra time for your trips and check the bus schedules often. Look at the bus company websites too, as they will have updates.
The new hub connects bus and rail lines. Walking and biking paths will improve, creating a greener and better hub. The project costs £32 million, coming from different funds.
They expect to finish it by 2026. That’s when new bus services start. The council wants a vibrant town center and plans to keep everyone informed.
