GMB viewers are moved as a Southport mum expresses her grief, wishing to trade places with her daughter Elsie, a victim of tragedy.

Elsie’s parents, Jenni and David Stancombe, talked about their loss. It was their first TV interview since their daughters died. Elsie, age seven, and Bebe, age six, passed away, along with Alice Aguiar, age nine.
Axel Rudakubana killed the girls during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. The event occurred in July 2024. The family from Southport was devastated.
Jenni Stancombe spoke about that day, wishing she had been there. “We just dropped her at dance,” Jenni said sadly, explaining, it was for bracelets and fun. It was the first week of summer break.
Her daughter really wanted to go. Jenni added, “She was where she wanted to be.” David said the children deserved safety. Jenni wished she had been there and stated, “I’d swap with Elsie.” Susanna Reid reacted with emotion on air.
Viewers shared sad messages online, with one person feeling heartbroken. They said it was awful to see their pain. Losing the chance to tuck her in hurt badly, and people imagined it with their own kids.
Another person hoped they felt support. Someone else said, “Imagine their heartbreak.” Another described the parents as broken, hoping they would continue to share. One viewer admired their strength and understood why they spoke publicly.
