Two men are jailed after drug dealing in Southend. Searches in Wakering and Shoebury led to arrests and seizure of drugs and cash.

These searches helped stop gangs in Southend. A police plan started last October cut serious violence by forty percent! Police started it after some bad events last summer.
Tommy Slingo, 28, admitted to drug crimes. He also had a weapon on him. Callum Brighting, 22, also admitted drug crimes, possessing illegal money. Police found they sold drugs in Southend.
A court sentenced Brighting to six years, ten months, while Slingo got two years, four months. A police chief said they worked hard on this. He said Brighting and Slingo are now in jail and Southend is safer. Drugs bring violence and hurt people, so police will keep targeting criminals.
The police chief has a clear message for criminals: do not come to Southend to commit crimes. Officers will find and arrest you.
The public helps the police do their job and most people think the police are doing well. The chief knows there is always more to do, and he thanks the public for their help.
