Operation Impact nets arrests and seizes drugs and cash in South Tyneside. Police target drug dealing, assault, and shoplifting.

Police first went to a house on Stanhope Road and found wraps of what seemed like heroin there. Cops also found £385 and things that looked stolen. Two men and one woman got arrested.
The people arrested were aged 48, 38, and 39. Police arrested them for drug dealing. They are out on bail while police keep investigating.
Next, police checked out a place on Roman Road. They found cannabis, edibles, and drug tools, including a grinder and scales. Cops patrolled Jarrow and arrested three more who were wanted for assault and shoplifting.
Police worked with the Council’s Trading Standards team and checked places that sell alcohol. They stopped trouble on the Metro too, where eight people got tickets or summonses.
A traffic team stopped many vehicles on the roads and seized seven vehicles for driving offenses. A speed camera van caught 169 people speeding, with 123 of those on John Reid Road.
