Repeat offender Michael Davis jailed for 16 months after multiple thefts from shops. He violated a previous unusual court order.

Michael Davis lived in Hatton Gardens in Mitcham. He stole jackets from a TK Maxx in Epsom on January 6, leading to his arrest.
He also stole from a Co-op in Epsom last December, taking sandwiches. Davis also stole candy from a BP in Croydon and sunglasses from a Boots in Dorking.
The thefts broke his court order, which stopped him from stealing. He was prohibited from entering stores without money and touching cars without permission.
Davis faced a car charge from last November in Croydon. The court sentenced him to 16 months in jail and issued a fine.
He admitted to 29 crimes already last September, including theft and fraud. These crimes involved stealing from stores in Epsom and Ewell.
Police stated their dislike for shoplifting and commitment to protecting local stores. They worked hard to obtain the court order, which contributed to the harsher sentence.
