A six-year-old son’s audio message to his murdered father brought tears to the courtroom during sentencing.

Wilson, from Leytonstone, got 18 years in jail. He hit and kicked Imnetu outside a restaurant. The event occurred in Queensway, west London, on August 26. Imnetu, 41, was drunk and died in the hospital four days later.
Imnetu’s wife, Linda, spoke about her husband in court, saying people respected and loved him. Mussie impacted his family, workplace, and community. She wants the court to remember the man he was.
The six-year-old son’s audio message played next; the boy said, “I love you. Bye-bye, Daddy”. The judge called it “heart-rending.” Imnetu’s family and friends were in court, and some cried when they heard the recording.
Wilson said he acted in self-defense at trial and regretted someone lost their life. Judge Katz sentenced Wilson to life with 18 years minimum. He said Mussie and his loved ones are victims and stated the CCTV footage was very shocking.
Mussie was defenseless when Wilson attacked. The judge said Wilson lost control. He tripped Mussie, then kept punching his head. Wilson could have walked away.
He then kicked Mussie in the head, saying that kicking a defenseless person is wrong. The jury saw CCTV of Wilson headbutting Imnetu. Wilson punched Imnetu five times, causing Imnetu to fall to the ground.
Wilson kept punching Imnetu while he was down. Then, Wilson kicked him in the head. Afterward, Wilson went to the Ministry of Sound club.
Imnetu worked at The Arts Club and never woke up, dying days later in the hospital. Wilson said he “crossed the line” after the attack.
Wilson said he had a monster inside and thought he messed up badly. Asked about the carnival, he said he thought it was manslaughter.
Wilson was arrested on August 28. He told the police that he acted in self-defense, claiming Imnetu harassed girls and had a bottle. The judge added that Wilson lied about the bottle.
