Somerset locals remembered through heartfelt tributes and funeral announcements published recently. Forty-nine lives are honored.

The messages offer comfort to grieving families and celebrate the lives of those now gone. There is one in memoriam for those we miss, and one expressing thanks. Here are some of the recent death notices.
Beryl Joyce Ashman, of Coxley, died at 100. Her funeral is February 24th, and donations can go to the British Heart Foundation. June Batten (Veasey), from Doulting, died at 83; her service is February 26th at St. Aldhelm’s Church. Jennifer Ann Bishop passed away at 75, with her funeral on February 17th at Weston-super-Mare Crematorium; donate to Cystic Fibrosis Trust if desired.
Evelyn May Board will be missed by many and didn’t want a funeral, having lived 94 wonderful years. Michael John Carter, of Bath, passed away, a loved husband, father, and grandfather; donations can be made to RUH Forever Friends. Phyllis Mary Clarke passed away peacefully at 89, with her service on March 1st at Christ Church, Frome; donations can go to Dorothy House Hospice Care. Diane Judith Cole (Collins) passed away at 83; her funeral will be March 5th with casual clothes okay, and donations to Dorothy House if you wish.
Anna Maria Comis passed away peacefully at 93, with her funeral on February 25th; donations can be made to the Peggy Dodd Centre. Richard Norman Cox, of Street, passed away at 89; a memorial service will be on February 25th at Kingdom Hall, Glastonbury. Gladys Mary Duck, of Street, passed away at 94, with her funeral on February 26th at St John’s Church; donations to Arthritis Action are appreciated.
Alison Evans (Aly), of Yeovil, died at 65; the service is February 26th, and you can donate to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance if you like. Marjorie Fielder passed away at 88; donations can be made to the British Heart Foundation or the Torch Trust. Mavis Irene Goddard passed away peacefully at 92; the funeral will be February 27th at St Marys Church, Chard, and donations can go to The Donkey Sanctuary. Gloria Ann Green (Dowsett) passed away at home after a long illness at 82; the funeral is February 20th, and donations should go to PSPA charity.
Margaret Higgins, of Street, passed away at 88; her service is February 25th at United Reformed Church, and donations can be made to St Margaret’s Hospice. Elizabeth Holland passed away at 97; the funeral is February 20th, and you can plant a flower to remember Elizabeth. Michael John Horler died peacefully at 78; the funeral will be February 24th, and donations go to the British Heart Foundation. Philip James Jones, of Stoke-sub-Hamdon, passed away at 77; the funeral will be February 20th, and donations can be made to Secret World Wildlife Rescue.
Edna May Kennedy passed away at 90; her funeral service will be February 27th, and donations go to Parkinson’s UK. Reginald Jones passed away; his funeral service already happened, and donations go to Cystic Fibrosis or Parkinson’s UK. Margaret (Madge) Joyce passed away at 98; the funeral is March 5th at Knowle Methodist Church, and you can please donate to the RNLI. John Stephen Matthews, of Cheddar, passed away at 73; the funeral will be February 26th, and donations can go to The Royal British Legion. Phyllis May Mitchell passed away peacefully at 93; the funeral is March 3rd, and donations will go to Marden Court Amenity Fund. June Nash passed away peacefully at 92; the funeral service is February 19th, and donations can go to the British Heart Foundation. Donald James Norman, of Sharpshaw Farm, passed away at 93; his service is February 27th, and donations can be made to Cancer Research UK.
