Thieves ransacked Highgate United FC clubhouse in Shirley, stealing liquor and a card machine. Doors were damaged, prompting a fundraiser.

Two masked guys broke in after closing. They damaged doors and a till. The thieves also stole some things. They seemed to be looking for cash instead of liquor bottles and a card machine.
The damaged doors caused the biggest problem. The front door and cellar door are badly hurt. The club started a fundraiser to recover. Video shows the masked men with torches as they carried bags to the bar.
One guy filled a bag with alcohol. The other tried to open the cellar door but failed. The whole thing took about five minutes. A club spokeswoman said the place was destroyed.
She stated the damage costs hundreds of pounds. The thieves damaged the cellar door with a screwdriver. Cleaning up will be a huge job. The club is small and in the Midlands League.
They have kids’ teams, including SEND children. The club had floods recently. Now, this break-in sets them back. The club depends on matches and events to survive.
Police are investigating the break-in. It happened between February 15th and 16th. The Highgate United doors were smashed. Police are asking for information.
