New café Empourium opens in Derby! Aims to provide a calm space with extended hours, located on East Street.

The building society moved in 2014 after merging. After that, a shisha lounge used the space. Empourium took over the spot in June and remodeled the first floor with modern décor. Large front windows provide natural light.
Empourium staff are optimistic about the future and plan to stay open late and expand their menu. The team running Empourium all live in Derby.
They want to share their offerings with the city. They want better street signs to attract more visitors.
Empourium considers itself a traditional coffee shop and has a knowledgeable and experienced team. Summer plans include late-night hours during the week, which is unusual for Derby. They envision a quiet evening spot where students can study, and people can chat easily. They aim to offer a peaceful alternative to louder venues.
Empourium will serve usual coffee, cakes, and more. They also plan to collaborate with local charities and will offer space for special needs groups and others.
Besides coffee and tea, Empourium has unique choices, such as pink hot chocolate. It opened February 3rd at 29 East Street, near the stone ram sculpture.
