A Skegness trader must pay £15,000+ to eight victims after admitting to fraud related to unfulfilled home projects.

Jack David Turner operated a business called TR Fencing Services, offering outdoor services from 2020 to 2023. He was prosecuted by Trading Standards for taking money for home projects he did not finish.
Turner, from Skegness, took payments up to £4,200 promising goods and services, but failed to provide supplies or complete the work, leaving several people as victims.
The 25-year-old went to court on Monday, January 27, where he admitted to eight fraud charges. He returned to court in February and received a suspended jail sentence of 12 months.
Turner must pay £15,018.96 in compensation to his eight victims. Given his limited income, he will pay £50 each month, taking him 25 years to fully repay the debt.
Turner also has requirements to complete 15 days of rehabilitation and 200 hours of unpaid work.
Rebecca Money, a Trading Standards officer for Lincolnshire County Council who investigates unfair traders, thanked the witnesses for their help. She noted that Turner’s fraud hurt many people greatly.
Report unfair trading to Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice Consumer Service. The “Buy With Confidence” scheme helps prevent rogue traders from getting away with fraudulent activities.
The scheme vets businesses beforehand, allowing customers to trust approved traders who have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards.
