Activists arrested after protest at Armstrong Works over alleged Israeli actions.

Two women climbed onto the roof of a building early Tuesday morning and hung a Palestinian flag. Protesters also dumped rubble on the road. Someone daubed red paint on signs.
Palestine Action said they organized the protest, upset about the force used by Israel. Gaza’s health ministry says over 45,000 Palestinians died there since October 7, 2023.
Police arrested six people for public nuisance. Northumbria Police said they ended the protest safely first.
Police got a call about the protest around 5:20 AM and said people climbed onto the gatehouse roof, causing damage.
Officers went to the scene to talk to the protesters and arrested five women, ages 20, 21, 24, 27, and 28. They also arrested a 20-year-old man. The arrests were for conspiracy to cause a nuisance, They are still in custody, and police are still investigating.
