Roadworks in Lincoln’s Sincil Bank are set to finish this month, after changes to roads, footpaths and cycleways.

Sincil Bank will be one-way southbound, between Scorer Street and Sausthorpe Street, and also from Kirkby Street to Portland Street. Cross Street’s one-way southbound changes direction, now between Portland Street and Scorer Street. Portland Street gets a one-way westbound section, spanning from Kesteven Street to Cross Street.
The project used nearly 350 tonnes of material, with workers putting in 11,000 hours. They laid new footpaths earlier in the project, and the team prepared the road for a new cycleway connecting the stadium to Kesteven Street. Surfacing continues to be the focus.
Crews are finishing footways near the stadium and are also resurfacing part of Scorer Street. The final cycleway surfacing goes along Sincil Bank. The new one-way system arrives mid-March.
Once road work ends, they will improve how the area looks. They’ll put in planters plus trees and shrubs, and new signs, gates, and a garden are coming too. The City Council will work with artists, planning community murals in Sincil Bank.
They are adding signs to boost community. The planters and greenery should look nice this summer. This work aims to fix traffic and access issues and they hope to improve life for residents. It should attract investment to central Lincoln.
The project costs £3 million, covered by Town Deal funds. The changes boost how the area looks and feels, also improving accessibility. They want to make Lincoln greener, prioritizing improved air quality and creating a healthier environment.
