Banned from Preston shops for theft, Nikki Rogers is jailed for 16 weeks after breaching the Criminal Behaviour Order.
The court order lasted for three years. It stopped her from entering city center shops. She went to Boots on Fishergate anyway. Police arrested her for stealing beauty items. This happened on February 22nd.
Rogers, who is 37, lives on Ripon Street. She admitted to theft and breaking the order. Preston Magistrates’ Court sentenced her. Her jail term is 16 weeks long.
Inspector Dave Byrne spoke about the case. He said they take retail crime seriously. It hurts businesses and the community. Police monitor those with Criminal Behaviour Orders. They will act fast if they re-offend. Preston must feel safe for all, he stated.
Lancashire Constabulary has Operation Vulture. Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, supports this operation.
The operation uses dedicated officers. They patrol hotspots for increased visibility. They partner with retailers closely. This improves information sharing, helping officers gain a deeper understanding and identify more shoplifters.
