A guy named Anthony Shimque stole stuff from BP garages. He took about £40,000 worth of goods. Now, he cannot go into some stores.

Police caught Anthony after spotting him in Loughton. They recognized his clothes from a description. A search of his home found more clues, linking him to the garage burglaries.

He admitted he was guilty in court, and on February 13, the court gave him a sentence. From June to October 2024, BP reported ten thefts, during which the garage lost food, cigarettes, and other items.

Essex Police investigated the BP thefts, and their investigation led to Anthony’s arrest. He faced charges of burglary and theft, admitting to everything in court in October.

He repeatedly stole from the Debden Broadway BP, taking items from shelves at the store and filling bags with cigarettes. The court sentenced him on February 13.

He got 16 months for burglary, suspended for two years. He also got nine months for theft offenses, also suspended for two years, and both run at the same time.

The court also gave him a four-year order: he cannot enter BP Debden Broadway again, nor can he enter BP Ilford at all. He must pay when entering any store, and cannot wear a face covering in any store.

Sergeant Jamie Shepherd spoke about the case, saying this hurts everyone. He added they arrest thieves who steal locally and help businesses prevent crime. The order helps reduce crime there. He thanked BP for their help getting a conviction.
