The case was almost six years old. Tuffrey stayed out of trouble since then, and the judge spared him immediate jail time, giving him a two-year suspended sentence.
The judge said police saw the car and Tuffrey tried to escape, driving fast in Sherwood where children often play outside, risking many people’s lives.
The prosecutor said this happened July 23, 2019. Police saw Tuffrey’s car on Chippenham Road in Bestwood, and they decided to watch him.
The chase started near the police station, and Tuffrey sped away, hitting 60-70 mph near parked cars before crashing into a wall, with only the wall getting hurt.
Tuffrey and a passenger ran away. He told the officer to Taser him, and the officer did it right away. Police found cannabis worth up to £3,000 in the car, along with £3,500 in cash.
Tuffrey admitted to dangerous driving and to selling cannabis. His lawyer said he stayed out of trouble. Tuffrey lives in Nottingham and is from Cotgrave.
