A tense 36-hour standoff in Sheffield concludes after a man barricaded with weapons.

The police evacuated nearby places. At first, they closed some roads too. This included Sheffield Parkway between two exits. Now, the roads and public transport are open again, but residents still can’t go home.
Police haven’t shared much about the man, nor have they said what he wants. They are still trying to talk to him now, having reduced the area under police control which allowed roads to reopen.
Cops are also helping residents with pets. If pets were inside, police are caring for them, then they try to reunite them with their owners. The man might have weapons and be a danger to himself.
People are talking about it online, of course. Someone hoped it would end well, while another said they saw armed police going up the stairs a lot. This person speculated the man might have firearms and explosives, and someone else wondered why police were hesitant.
