Two people went to the hospital. This happened near Saughton Mains Bank in Edinburgh. Police taped off a lane there; the incident occurred Thursday evening.

Police said an axe was not involved. Officers were called to the area around 5:30 PM on Thursday. Some residents reported someone had an axe before the police arrived, but police confirmed no axe was used.

Many police officers guarded the scene and investigated what happened. Forensic officers were present, too, with both uniformed and plain clothes officers helping. The area is close to HMP Edinburgh.
