Report claims officials ignore drug use. “Zombified” inmates easier to manage as rehabilitation suffers.

Prisons must rehabilitate criminals. Education helps prisoners improve their lives. Recently, early release programs were used because jails were overcrowded in Scotland. It is awful to think released prisoners developed drug habits in jail.
It is wrong if prison bosses knew about drug use. They must not ignore it for an easier time. Prison is a very controlled place. Drugs should not be common in prisons. Yet, they are and have been. If authorities cannot keep drugs out, they must stop drug use.
An American group, 40 Days for Life, plans anti-abortion protests. These are unwelcome in Scotland. A new law creates buffer zones near clinics. The group will hold “silent prayers” nearby, near the Queen Elizabeth hospital.
Vulnerable women will feel targeted and scared. Women choose abortion for many reasons, and protests add to their emotional pain. People can protest laws they dislike. Democracy allows expressing views, but this must be peaceful and respectful.
The group does not need to protest near clinics and should cancel these protests. They must find another way to argue. Their “silent prayers” are silent bullying. This is visible harassment of people.
