Tommy Gilmour had quite the run! He’s a grandad from Scotland. He cheated death not once, but twice, recently. Then, he won a share of a million pounds from the Postcode Lottery.

Tommy is among fifteen neighbors celebrating their win. They all live in Balloch, Dunbartonshire, with the postcode G83 8SY. Each neighbor received a check for £66,666. The Daily Record reported the uplifting story.

Tommy, 71, faced a scary bus accident on December 3rd. He suffered severe breaks to his knee and wrist. “I had an argument with the bus,” he joked, recalling he thought the street was clear.

Suddenly, a bus struck him, sending him flying through the air. He landed hard on a kerb. Thankfully, he used a judo move to break the fall. He had practiced judo in the past.

During the impact, his arm hit the bus windscreen. He consciously tried to lessen the impact with his arm. His watch, a gift from his son on his 60th birthday, offered crucial protection.

The watch stopped his hand from being severed. Doctors estimated a healing time of at least six months. People expressed disbelief that he survived the harrowing accident.

Prior to the bus accident, he survived a severe surgery complication. Last October, an operation to remove glands went terribly wrong. Tommy suffocated on the operating table, actually dying during the procedure.

After three hours, doctors managed to revive Tommy. They also placed him in a coma for a period. Upon waking, he found his family at his bedside and joked about their unexpected presence.

His wife, Maureen, is understandably worried about future incidents. In a humorous attempt to safeguard him, she even ordered bubble wrap online. She wants to protect him constantly.

Tommy feels incredibly lucky about his lottery win. He believes the win marked the end of his string of bad luck. He is still finding it hard to believe. He considers it simply tremendous.

Delighted to share the win with his neighbors, Tommy is particularly happy about winning together. He and Maureen have exciting plans for the winnings. They intend to buy a new car, take a trip, and help their family.
