The other 26 councils will decide soon. One plans to raise taxes over 13 percent. Over half, 18 councils, meet this week. The other eight councils meet next week.

East Lothian and Edinburgh announced a rise last week. Fife, Glasgow, and the Borders also acted. North Lanarkshire raised taxes last week. Their increases ranged from 7.5 to 10 percent.

Four councils vote on Tuesday. Western Isles will vote on their budget. Midlothian, Shetland, and West Lothian also decide. Wednesday sees four more council votes. East Renfrewshire, Moray, North Ayrshire, and South Lanarkshire also vote.

Thursday is a big day as many councils make announcements. Nearly a third hold meetings then. Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyll and Bute, Clackmannanshire, and Dumfries and Galloway will vote. Dundee, East Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire and Stirling vote as well.

Only eight councils decide next week. Meetings are between March 4 and 6. Aberdeen, East Dunbartonshire, Falkirk and Highland are included. Inverclyde, Orkney, Perth and Kinross, and West Dunbartonshire also vote then.
