Six councils confirmed tax increases amid cost of living concerns. Some may face rises up to 10% as decisions loom.

One council plans an 8.2% rise, while another two councils will raise it by 8% and 7.5%. John Swinney wanted smaller increases.
The other 26 councils will soon decide. One may raise taxes by over 13%. Eighteen councils will meet this week to discuss budgets. The other eight will decide next week.
East Lothian, Edinburgh, Fife, Glasgow, Borders, and North Lanarkshire announced increases last week. These rises are between 7.5% and 10%.
Four councils vote on Tuesday. Western Isles, Midlothian, Shetland, and West Lothian will confirm budgets.
East Renfrewshire, Moray, North Ayrshire, and South Lanarkshire vote on Wednesday. Four more councils decide their budgets then.
Thursday is a big day with many councils having budget meetings. Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyll and Bute will vote. Clackmannanshire, Dumfries and Galloway will also vote. Dundee, East Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire, and Stirling will vote too.
Only eight councils decide the week after this week ends. They meet between March 4 and 6. Aberdeen, East Dunbartonshire, Falkirk, Highland and Inverclyde will decide. Finally, Orkney, Perth and Kinross, and West Dunbartonshire will decide.
