Hey, want to hear something crazy? Scottish police seized a lot of cannabis. It was worth £3,425,000 in just six weeks in 2025! Criminals are growing it in empty buildings.

Police did sixteen raids all over Scotland. They found tons of cannabis plants and dried cannabis. Two big cannabis operations shut down; those were worth £6.1 million.

Back in January, two guys got arrested, linking them to farms worth £3.6 million. That spanned from 2022 to 2025. Those farms operated in a few cities. Also in January, five men went to jail, getting nine years combined for growing cannabis worth almost £2.5 million. All this happened in Galashiels.

Even with all those seizures, police worry it’s just the start. One charity said drug seizures reflect police work. It doesn’t always mean more drugs exist, as a big warehouse find boosts stats.

Last year, police warned about empty buildings, saying organized crime grows cannabis in them. They exploit Britain’s struggling high streets.

Here’s a list of recent cannabis seizures in Scotland. February 11, Greenock: 200 plants found. February 11, Aberdeenshire: 278 plants found, four arrested. February 10, Kirkcaldy: Cannabis seized. February 8, Cardonald: £100,000 worth seized, one man arrested.

February 7, Motherwell: £150,000 worth seized; two arrested. February 6, Glasgow: Cocaine and cannabis seized, three charged. February 4, Hawick: £289,000 worth seized. January 28, Black Isle: £600,000 worth seized, two arrested.

Police say tips from the public are key. Report anything suspicious, like unusual activity or strong smells coming from buildings. You can call the police or Crimestoppers. All tips will be listened to. Police will use them to fight crime.
