Stoke-on-Trent’s Scotia Road to receive safety upgrades, including crossings and double-yellow lines, to address accident concerns.

A zebra crossing is coming near Lidl. It will go between Lidl and Dimensions. Double-yellow lines are being put in place near Federation Road and Marshall Street. The crossing near Dimensions will get an upgrade.
Locals said they like the new safety measures. Karen Wootton said the crossing took too long and many accidents happen. She hopes it will stop accidents, mentioning her neighbor’s house got hit three times.
David Clucas wants slower traffic and is glad the council will act. He thinks speed cameras are needed. Lesley Clucas sees speeding at night and wants the crossing built fast.
Maria Ciocan thinks it helps her son who crosses to play football, making it safer for him now. She agrees it’s a risky road.
The council plans to do the work this year. Finlay Gordon-McCusker spoke about the plans, stating they are upgrading an existing crossing first. Next, a zebra crossing at Federation Road is planned, and the new crossing will be near Lidl. He said the changes aid all on the road and they desire easier, safer travel around the city.
