A shooting happened in Salford earlier today. Police started a big investigation, working in the Whit Lane area. A man likely fired a gun on Whit Lane, and police found two casings on the street, believing a blank shot was fired.

Police raided two nearby houses, finding drugs inside. Two people got arrested and are in jail. Police cordons came down this afternoon, after being up since early this morning.

The shooting happened at 12:39 AM today, outside a house on Whit Lane. Thankfully, nobody was injured. A 19-year-old and a 39-year-old got arrested, both facing drug and firearms charges.

Police say the investigation continues now and they don’t think the public is in danger. Someone said cannabis farms are a problem. Police searched near a house on Whit Lane, using a fingertip search method today.

Another Salford area faces police action. Two shootings caused this police crackdown there. Little Hulton aims to stop organized crime, and police made 25 arrests so far in that area.

Thefts and damage happened at a shopping center. Buses got vandalized too, police reported. People on bikes caused disruption. Police think 15 to 20 people are in gangs.

The last shooting there was in December. Two people on bikes shot at a house then. The house was on Ellesmere Close near Queen Street, and three shots hit a window. Police started Operation Broadway after that shooting.

The council and housing groups help too. They want to protect vulnerable people and steer youth away from joining gangs.
