Rugby Legend Andy Irvine Launches Pub in Edinburgh Care Home

Hey, guess what I just read? This Edinburgh care home has a new pub. The care home, Cramond Residence, is pretty fancy. Andy Irvine, a rugby star, opened it.

The pub should make residents’ social lives better, and the residents are super happy about it. It has sports stuff all over the walls. Andy Irvine thinks it’s great for sharing stories.

Richard Annan works at Cramond Residence. He said the pub is the heart of the home now. Residents are making friends and staying social. Many played sports like golf or rugby before.

The pub lets them remember those times. They can watch live sports together, too. People are really enjoying it so far, said Richard. More cool spaces are coming to the home. There will be a gym and a games room soon.

The home will also get a 70’s themed room. Billy Early helped build the pub. He wanted it to feel special and comfy for residents. Billy said it is about what people love.

The home wants them to keep enjoying their passions. They will have events at the pub, too. Wimbledon and other events are planned.
