Police found an £800k cannabis farm near Doncaster after spotting a roof hole while responding to a break-in report.

Officers noticed a strange hole in a roof on Monday, February 17th. They were responding to a break-in report, and checked the building. Inside, they found about 900 cannabis plants growing on multiple floors.
The building presented a serious fire hazard risk. Workers quickly dismantled the South Parade property. Nottinghamshire Police stopped a speeding car that morning and arrested three people for aggravated burglary, in connection to the initial break-in. The suspects were later released on bail, and police continue to investigate.
Sergeant Martin Maw spoke about the cannabis farm, stating that it was complex and large. It was hidden well in a building near Doncaster’s city center. The electricity had been illegally bypassed, creating a dangerous fire risk that required urgent repair work.
Maw further explained that such farms link to organized crime, which spread violence and fear. Police will continue dismantling these factories to make neighborhoods safer for everyone. He urges people to report drug activity, including drug dealing or cannabis farms.
