Rockliffe Hall plans massive restoration of its Old Hall, a Grade II listed building, updating rooms and guest experiences.

They got approval earlier for a new pavilion to hold a special restaurant. Darlington Council approved upgrades to the Old Hall to improve guest rooms upstairs. A new staircase is planned for inside, helping to connect the bar, room, and terrace better.
Landscaping will improve the building’s front, though the outside look will stay the same. The Orangery and kitchen will become the main restaurant, while the pavilion holds James Close’s restaurant, where he used to run the Raby Hunt, which had two Michelin stars.
The Old Hall is now closed for renovation, but the New Hall rooms stay open. You can still use the golf course, spa, and the Clubhouse. Additionally, TERRA restaurant also remains open.
TERRA will still be open for dinner and will host themed food events. Adam Molloy will run “The French Bistro,” guided by James Close. Breakfast and lunch at TERRA are also available, featuring new menus.
