Rockbourne Fair donates £62,081 to the Stars Appeal, a record amount, aiding Salisbury Hospital and patients like Lily-Eva.

The Earl of Pembroke joined the fair committee. Hospital staff were also present outside Imber Ward. The Stars Appeal funded the ward’s refurbishment. The upgrade cost £600,000.
The Rockbourne Fair lasts three days and takes place at Salisbury Racecourse in October. The 2024 fair beat the previous year’s total. In 2023, they raised £51,533.
Bev Moulding is the chair of the fair committee. She thanked visitors, stallholders, and sponsors. Volunteers also played a part, as everyone helped Salisbury Hospital patients and staff.
The committee visited Sarum Children’s Ward and met Lily-Eva Cole, age nine, and her parents. Lily is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Lily presented a thank you letter to Lord Pembroke and the committee. The letter explained how the Stars Appeal helped her, stating the play team keeps her busy. They distract her from her treatment and keep her company and make her smile.
The Stars Appeal funds a play assistant and items on Sarum Children’s Ward. They buy new equipment for the hospital and improve hospital facilities. The appeal also supports many projects for patients, including emergency supplies, chaplaincy services, and cancer support.
Lord Pembroke appreciates the Rockbourne Fair’s support, which helps patients like Lily-Eva and her family. The money provides the best care possible and funds equipment and comfort items. He thanked Bev and her team for their hard work.
