Abandoned Wheatsheaf Centre in Rochdale will be transformed into event spaces, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

Well, they’re turning part of it into event spaces, specifically on the fifth and sixth floors, right where the library used to be. The plan includes two halls for different kinds of events. Think weddings, business meetings, parties, you name it.
One hall holds 280 people, while the other is for 180 people. They are also adding to the car park and a staircase will lead directly to the venues. The shopping center used to be popular, with five floors and stores like Wilko.
The developers want to keep events in Rochdale, as weddings often happen in other towns. So, this could boost local jobs and improve business-related opportunities as well.
The venue should help the community and aims to attract a nicer crowd. They plan to use local businesses, which will create around 46 jobs. I’m excited to see the results.
