They are building a big battery factory in Puriton. The Agratas facility will create up to 4,000 jobs. Roads will close to connect the factory to utilities, and these road closures could last five months.

Somerset Council stated these works may disrupt traffic. They advise people to plan their routes ahead. Temporary signals will manage traffic at Crandon Bridge for power work on the A39, happening from March 4 to March 18.

Woolavington Road will have phased closures for five months, beginning April 14 near Enterprise Way. Details on specific closures are coming soon, and locals will get information when finalized.

Residents and businesses on Woolavington Road can still access their places throughout the planned road closures. The contractors will try to finish this work faster, hoping to be done in less than five months.

Traffic managers are coordinating work, with the goal of closing roads fewer times. Contractors may return to the A39 later to finish the power connection, but this won’t happen during the Woolavington Road closure.

Separately, they are improving the Dunball roundabout, which connects to Junction 23 of the M5. The A39 link road will have some evening closures, running between J23 and Dunball.

The motorway junction will stay open. Closures are from 7.30pm to 5am on March 3, April 3-5, and May 12-21. A diversion route will be in place.
