Hatherley Lane closes for five days for road work. Detour via Hatherley Road & Grovesfield Way. Expect delays.

The road will close for five days, from Monday, February 17, ending Friday, February 21. The closure is during the daytime hours of 8 am to 4:30 pm. The county council is undertaking this work for safety reasons.
Expect delays even before the road closure. Starting today, February 10, temporary lights are up. They will be in place all day and night, so plan for extra travel time.
If the road closes, a detour will be in place. This route goes along Hatherley Lane, then onto Hatherley Road, and finally Grovesfield Way. This is part of the larger Hatherley Safer Streets project, where they already built a traffic island.
They plan to improve signs and road links. They also want to add a zebra crossing. The closed area spans from Grovefield Way’s roundabout to Asda’s mini-roundabout, by the hospital, affecting Golden Valley Retail Park as well.
The council states that winter created significant road damage, which they are now addressing with water damage fixes and other urgent repairs. They ask for your patience during this period.
