The man worked at The Cornish Arms in St Merryn. He was pronounced dead there. The police do not suspect foul play, and his family knows about his death.
Police made a statement, saying they went to Grenville Road because they were worried about a man. They confirmed a man in his 30s died on February 13, around 8 p.m.
Rick Stein purchased The Cornish Arms in 2009 with his ex-wife, Jill Stein. He wanted it to stay a traditional pub. The Rick Stein Group has over 600 employees and operates restaurants, a school, shops, and rooms, mostly in Padstow.
Ian Fitzgerald, who manages Rick Stein Restaurants, said they are very saddened by the passing of one of their chefs on February 13.
There seem to be no suspicious reasons for his death. The family wants privacy during this hard time and will not share more details.
