A team helps find lost pets in Renfrewshire. They are called Lost Pets Renfrewshire. Volunteers started it about four years ago. They balance their lives and find pets. They help others and love animals very much, which motivates them to search. They spend hours rescuing missing pets.

Danielle Caira is one such volunteer. She helps out on weekends often and goes out despite bad weather. Danielle helps find missing pets selflessly. She saw their Facebook posts previously, where they reunited animals and retrieved dead cats too. Danielle has her own pets and feels very passionate about them. She wanted to give back and help out.

Sometimes happy endings don’t happen, but families deserve closure. Many cases do have happy moments which makes the efforts rewarding. Last January, a dog went missing in Paisley. The group and others helped search and set a trap. It took ten or eleven days to catch the dog. They worked at all hours, in all weather.

Eleven days is long for a dog alone. They also trapped a cat with a chip that had been missing nine months from Glasgow. The cat went home to a delighted family. It’s amazing how far they can travel. Helping families, who must lose all hope at times, is extremely rewarding.

Jesse is a pup missing since January and disappeared near Dykebar Hospital. People have seen him several times, but they haven’t managed to catch him yet. The group asks for the public’s assistance now and want to buy a drone for searching. This would help them cover more ground.

Danielle will learn to fly the drone soon, and she thinks it will change things. Jess has been gone over four weeks sadly. Danielle searches every weekend for him. The area is huge and makes searching hard. Walking on all terrain is difficult work too, and they need help to cover the large space.

The drone will cover areas quickly then. This has been the hardest case so far. Jess appears, then vanishes for a week sadly. He runs from people when he sees them. Sightings are still good news for searching.

Irene Whiteside founded the group initially. She explained they need the public’s support. Most of their gear came from grateful people who got their pets back safely. Drones with thermal tech cost £4,000. It’s not money they can easily get quickly.

They need the drone to cover areas quickly and help them reach difficult places. They can focus on specific areas now. It would help them catch pets much faster soon.
