Rania Alayed was only 25. Her husband, Ahmed Al-Khatib, killed her. That happened back in June 2013.

Police found some body parts recently. They were looking for Rania’s remains. She was murdered twelve years ago. Her husband committed this terrible act.

Ahmed Al-Khatib killed Rania in Salford. It’s in Greater Manchester. He got a life sentence in June 2014. He must serve at least 20 years.

The police searched for her body for years. Now, they found remains near the A19 in Thirsk. The search started there on Monday because they got new information.

Formal ID isn’t done, but police think it’s Rania. They told her family about this news. Officers are helping Rania’s family. The site is secured for now.

Rania’s son, Yazan, called it a “surreal surprise.” He wanted a place for her to rest. He said laying flowers is all he asks.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Higginson spoke, saying they likely found Rania. He wants to give closure to her family because her murder was awful. He hopes they reunite her with family so they deserve to give her a resting place.
