BMW crashes in Salford, landing on train tracks. Driver survives; arrested for suspected drunk driving. Trains back on schedule.

The driver amazingly survived the crash and was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, their injuries seemed minor. The driver is a man in his 30s.
Police said he didn’t have life-altering injuries. After the big crash, they arrested him for suspected drunk driving.
Trains are now running normally again. The railway went through Eccles, but services from three companies were stopped temporarily as emergency repairs needed to happen.
Trains between Wigan and Manchester were also disrupted. Only the BMW was involved in the incident, and thankfully, no one else got hurt.
The railway workers removed the car from the tracks and urgently repaired the overhead cables quickly. Train services started again late Friday night.
A damaged barrier still blocks part of the footpath. The British Transport Police are probably handling the investigation, and police forces are looking into it.
