During Ramadan, Yardley Wood station lets worshippers park free. This “Park and Stride” helps people get to evening prayers. The station car park is mostly empty then, allowing people to park there and walk to the mosque.

Councillor Timothy Huxtable helped arrange this initiative, working with residents, the Masjid Esa Ibn Maryam, and transport officials. They wanted to reduce traffic during the holy month. The station is an eight-minute walk from the Etwall Road mosque.

The car park has one hundred sixty-four parking spaces. Ramadan begins Saturday, March 1st, 2025. This announcement came from Green Lane Masjid, who also organize the city’s Eid events.

Parking rules will be enforced around the mosque during this time. Traffic wardens and police will monitor roads, checking pavements and grass areas. They want to minimize issues for locals.

This marks the third year for the “Park and Stride” program. The mosque encourages people to use the car park and asks everyone to be mindful of neighbors. Using the station shows consideration.
