A Network Rail worker got hurt Saturday night. It happened near Port Glasgow, Inverclyde. The incident took place at engineering sites. Paramedics took the injured worker to a hospital.

The accident involved a crane that crashed onto a train line shortly after 8:30 p.m. Police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene.

The incident probably involved the crane lifting track as workers were replacing a rail junction. The worker’s condition is currently unknown. This junction allows trains to go to Gourock or Wemyss Bay.

Two fire engines went to the scene after the Scottish Ambulance Service called them at 8:37 p.m. from Glenburn Street, Port Glasgow. The crane lifting the track seemed to have a problem, and firefighters reported one casualty.

Network Rail is investigating the incident but a spokesperson said they can’t discuss details. They will support staff affected by the incident that occurred on their engineering site.
