Raby Castle, a popular destination in North East England, will be open every day for the first time. The castle reopens on Saturday, March 1, after its winter closure. This expansion provides increased access to the castle, recognized as one of the best-preserved castles in Northern England.

Claire Jones of Raby Estates stated that last year was a significant moment, as the grounds became more accessible to the public. Now, the castle will be open more frequently, which supports local tourism in the region.

Lord and Lady Barnard aim to enhance the visitor experience. Last year saw the opening of the Housekeeper’s Sitting Room, which showcases the castle’s history. They express their hope that people discover Raby’s legacy in 2025.

The castle, dating back to the 14th century and located in Staindrop, underwent winter maintenance. This included protecting the art and furniture within, with items dating from the 17th to the 21st centuries.

New tours and workshops have been introduced. Visitors can explore Raby’s art collection and learn about the women of Raby through these events led by Raby’s experts. Furthermore, there is a new exhibit for visitors to enjoy.

The exhibit focuses on Raby’s Walled Gardens, narrating their story over time. It explores the vision of the owners, with Luciano Giubbilei and Lady Barnard contributing to its remodeling.

The exhibit is housed in the Walled Gardens’ glass house, accessible with a gardens ticket. Daily tickets are priced at £22 for adults, £21 for concessions, £13 for children, and £63 for a family ticket.

Raby offers a membership option, with prices starting at £40 per year for children aged 4 to 15. Family passes, including two adults and three children, start at £195.

Membership grants access to various locations, including Raby Castle and Deer Park. You’ll also gain entry to the Walled Gardens, The Plotters’ Forest, and High Force Waterfall. Members enjoy a 10% discount at select shops like The Coach House shop, The Vinery, and the High Force Hotel.
