These thefts really upset the kids, who were scared the burglar might still be there. Carl, who is 30 and has no fixed address, was given a six-year prison term last September.
He admitted to robbery, burglary, weapons crimes, and stealing a car. These crimes happened in late 2023. He also admitted to the school burglaries, which happened on September 26 and October 1.
The court gave him three more months in prison, which he will serve after his six-year term. He stole the iPads during the first break-in. He then stole a stereo system worth £500 a week later.
The school said the break-in shut down a classroom. It worried the kids and staff, and the quality of teaching even went down. Kids asked if the burglar was still hiding, and learning was disrupted.
His lawyer said Carl had a drug problem then, but now he is clean and works as a cleaner in jail. He feels sorry for what he did and wanted to say sorry to all the people he hurt.
The judge gave him more jail time because the burglaries hurt the school and students, making it harder to teach kids.
