Pub Parrot Hurls Abuse And Bans Patrons, Becomes Unofficial Bouncer

Kerry Chapman owns Rio, a rude parrot. She bought Rio from a pet shop when Rio was six weeks old. Kerry became The Clifton’s landlady two years ago and took Rio to Adamsdown with her.

Rio is two years old and is a South American Macaw. He often swears at pub customers and even tells people, “You’re barred!” He learned those bad words from pub regulars.

A regular named Tony has a distinct laugh that Rio overhears and copies. Kerry might move pubs soon and may have to sell Rio, who is worth about £4,000. She worries new customers may not like Rio.
