Jon Lee Robinson passed away at HMP Lancaster Farms just weeks before his release. Family seeks answers.

The prison holds up to 560 men and is a Category C prison. The goal is to help inmates gain skills and resettle them. The prison wants to help them rejoin society.
Jon’s family, including his brother Gary, sister Candida, and mother Margaret, attended the hearing. His three nieces, Paige, Caitlin, and Courtney, were also present.
The family wants to see prison footage, including CCTV and bodycam video, as well as officer and paramedic recordings made on the day Jon died. A final inquest will occur on March 31 at Clitheroe Town Hall and is expected to last five days.
A doctor, Dr. Martin from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, provided a statement and conducted toxicology tests for the case. The coroner will also look at drug smuggling that occurred at the prison.
Jon’s brother spoke after his death in December 2023, stating that Jon had been in and out of prison and was due to be released that month. He called Jon a “loveable rogue,” adding that everyone loved him.
