Crimestoppers tips led to major drug seizure, murder arrests, and numerous other arrests and positive outcomes in Scotland.

These tips led to 357 arrests overall. Two people got arrested for murder allegations. Police also arrested 61 drivers for drink or drug use. Crimestoppers reported 944 “good outcomes,” including referrals to support agencies.
Police took that £6.5 million in drugs between 2023 and 2024. The crime calls were the most ever in 36 years. Crimestoppers said tips helped take criminals off the streets, solved crimes and aided many people.
A minister said the public plays a big role in reporting crimes. A police chief said communities trust Crimestoppers’ help.
A whistleblower said police lack mental health training. They said responding to mental health calls takes time, and distracts officers from other police work.
One cop said the situation was “disgusting”. They feel officers can’t properly help people in need. He mentioned some officers fudge their training.
Police Scotland defended their current approach. But, their Chief wants other groups to help more. Some English police don’t go to mental health calls.
