A woman was found guilty of terror crimes. Police released a second photo of her, this one showing her in a niqab. Her lawyer said the first photo upset her.

Farishta Jami planned to join a terror group called Islamic State Khurasan Province. She was found guilty on Thursday for planning to travel to Afghanistan with kids.

The court learned Jami planned to “martyr herself.” She saved money for one-way flights and posted extremist content online between 2022 and 2024.

She ran pro-Daesh groups online with over 700 members, sharing terror training videos to show loyalty to ISKP. She searched for flights to Afghanistan.

She searched 22 times in two weeks, seeking one-way tickets for herself and her kids. Police searched Jami’s home and found hidden SIM cards and cash; she also tried to hide passports.

Jami researched weapons online, finding info on AK47 rifles, and shared violent content online using ISIS supporting groups.

Jami was to be sentenced on Friday. Reports state her lawyer addressed the initial photo distress as West Midlands Police released a new photo, showing Jami wearing a niqab.

Jami’s sentencing was delayed until later.
