Two men arrested after police raid a suspected chop shop in Greater Manchester, seizing stolen vehicles and parts.

Greater Manchester Police led this raid, using officers from Bolton and other units, with the operation occurring across Greater Manchester Thursday. A warrant targeted a place on Shentonfield Road in Wythenshawe, where they wanted to find stolen vehicle parts. Police found and took many suspected stolen parts.
Police seized two vehicles suspected of being used in crimes. A 53-year-old man was arrested for possibly helping steal cars, and a 46-year-old man was also arrested for likely handling stolen property. Both men are being questioned.
The warrants were part of Operation Gosport, which investigates car thefts in Bolton and elsewhere, in addition to national car theft.
Sergeant Thomas Bayliss commented on the operation, noting the hard work of the officers involved and stating they found a chop shop in south Manchester.
Bayliss said police won’t tolerate vehicle crime and want the public to trust them. Police take crime reports seriously and deal with criminals effectively because vehicle crime hurts people’s jobs and income.
Chop shops are places where stolen cars are taken apart; the separate parts are then sold for profit.
