A police officer lost his job. He used police computers improperly.

Ryan Dzierzkowski was a Staffordshire Police officer. He worked in the northern part of the county. He looked at IT systems in 2023 and 2024. He did this both during work hours and when off duty.

This behavior broke rules. It violated confidentiality and was discreditable. The hearing determined this was gross misconduct. The hearing happened on February 6th. The police chief, Chris Noble, led it.

Dzierzkowski used the systems for his own reasons. He showed ‘personal interest,’ Noble found. Jon Roy, the deputy chief constable, also spoke. Dzierzkowski misused his power for himself, Roy said.

Officers must do what’s right, Roy stated. Data protection is very important. They must maintain data privacy. The police will act against anyone breaking rules.

Dzierzkowski tried to resign on January 31, 2025. He will go on a barred list. The list prevents him from police work. It covers other law enforcement too.
