Firefighters alerted police after a derelict house in Bucknall caught fire earlier today. No injuries were reported.

The house is on Theodore Road in Bucknall. The house is semi-detached, and it first burned in August 2020. Neighbors say it’s now a target for troublemakers. It has stood empty since the first fire.
A neighbor spoke with StokeonTrentLive, saying this is the third fire there. The neighbor thinks the house needs demolition because it seems unsafe, and kids often gather there. The fire went through the roof, they added.
The fire service received a call around 1:15 pm. Three fire engines went to the scene from Hanley, Longton, and Burslem. An aerial lift vehicle also went.
Hanley Station Manager Ant Ball spoke about the incident. About 18 firefighters worked to stop the fire. This took place throughout the day, he noted.
The fire stayed within one house, part of a semi-detached building. Crews are working to secure the site. A building inspector will check the house’s stability.
They will give the case to the police now. They can’t confirm arson yet; the police will determine the fire’s cause.
Manager Ball also gave a safety warning. He advised parents to be careful and warn kids about where they play. Some abandoned buildings might be accessible, but these places may not be safe. Properties left alone might have hidden dangers.
