Hey, something happened in the Cairngorms. Police are asking for any information about it. A red kite, a type of bird, was killed. Someone found it in Glenbuchet, Strathdon. This happened earlier this month. The report reached officers on February 26th.

They think it died between February 3rd and 4th. The RSPB helped recover the bird. Further investigation showed that the bird was shot. That’s when the police got involved. They couldn’t figure out the cause of death at first.

It’s illegal to kill protected species. Red kites are protected by law. Detective Constable Crilley is on the case. They are working with other groups to find out what happened.
