Police appeal for info after a protected red kite was illegally shot in the Glenbuchet area of Aberdeenshire earlier this month.

They think it died between February 3rd and 4th. The RSPB helped recover the bird. Further investigation showed that the bird was shot. That’s when the police got involved. They couldn’t figure out the cause of death at first.
It’s illegal to kill protected species. Red kites are protected by law. Detective Constable Crilley is on the case. They are working with other groups to find out what happened.
